WaterHab

WaterHaB has the ambition to develop a novel approach and use up-to-date surface technologies to tackle an old need of the European and world water resources: this means transferring the scientific knowledge to the real applications in reducing wetting- related issue, i.e. fresh water shortage. In this project, we will advance our fundamental understanding of water wetting behavior on fibers and meshes and design novel biomimetic  micro- and nano-structures, for engineering systems capable of harvesting atmospheric water based on Badgir, the Iranian traditional windcatcher  architecture.

The idea behind the project is reported in the interview with Akbari published in La Repubblica on 05 NOVEMBRE 2021 as well as UNIMIB website on the same day.
